FAQ

Frequently asked questions about hypnosis.

  • How does hypnosis work and is it safe?

Yes, hypnosis is safe. In any given moment, your mind is operating in two states of awareness – the conscious and unconscious. Limiting beliefs are stored in the unconscious (subconscious) mind which influences your behavior unbeknownst to your conscious awareness. The key is that limiting beliefs are simply a subconscious thought. Every habit of action is run by a habit of thought, not fact. Hypnosis allows you access to your subconscious mind so you can focus on a specific problem and its resolution while maintaining a comfortable state of physical relaxation. You're then able to change limiting beliefs into what you want. As a result, you will behave differently with little to no effort.

  • Are there any side effects of hypnosis?

No. The only side effects you will experience are positive ones. Generally, most people feel at peace after their session. They feel more clarity and in alignment with their goals.

  • Is hypnosis some type of spiritual woo woo?

No. Rest assured, hypnosis is not about mind control. You're not tapping into some supernatural realm nor are you opening yourself to being “hacked.” Contrary to what you may have seen on television or in movies, hypnosis is a scientifically-proven method for treating a variety of conditions, from chronic pain to insomnia. In fact, Stanford University School of Medicine’s Stanford Center on Stress & Health teaches hypnosis techniques as a treatment in clinical settings as part of an integrative medicine approach. You're always in control while listening to any hypnosis audio. You cannot be made to do anything you wouldn't want to do. You always retain the ability to “wake up” from your session and end it at any time.

  • What does it feel like to be hypnotized?

The hypnotic experience varies from person to person. One important thing to note is that being in hypnosis is not the same as being under anesthesia. You are both, very aware of your surroundings and not. Similar to being absorbed in a movie or book. Most people feel very calm and relaxed, at peace. Some people may experience bodily sensations like heaviness or lightness, like a feeling of floating, drifting in peace. Each person is different so there's no right or wrong. You're very aware of your surroundings.

  • Is it safe to combine hypnosis with other treatments or solutions?

Yes, using hypnosis in conjunction with other treatments such as therapy, medication, meditation, etc. is fine. In fact, you may see results even faster.

  • I have more than one audio now. Which audios should I listen to?

Once a new audio is made available for download, we recommend uploading it onto your device, putting on earbuds and listening to it at least once a day for the next week. You may listen at night and falling asleep to it. Your subconscious mind will take in the affirmations even if you've drifted off to sleep. As multiple audios are made available to you, you can rotate through as you see fit. There may be some audios that will resonate with you and you'll feel you need one more than the other. Experiment with what works best for you.

  • Should I consult my physician before trying hypnosis?

Hypnosis is not believed to have harmful side effects. Success depends partly on the skill of the practitioner and partly on the individual's willingness to undergo hypnosis. Any hypnosis sessions should not replace the care and treatment provided by your physician. You should not stop any current medications without the guidance or approval of your physician. Also, anyone with known psychiatric or neurological conditions, or anyone with a pacemaker should consult with their doctor before trying hypnosis.
